Maeve and Lilly

If you’re a faithful reader, you know that Lilly is nuts about Hannah Montana. Since it’s vaguely rocking and undeniably catchy, I suggested that she might like, oh I dunno, Tom Petty? She eagerly agreed to give it a listen but didn’t perk up much on first listen. After a few more spins though, she was a fan. Her favorite songs? “American Girl,” natch, and “Free Fallin’.” I tried to coax out of her what she liked about it. “It’s not like your music Poppa, I can sing along to it.” Based on the attributes of intelligible lyrics and a catchy melody, I’ll try to come up with some other things for her to dig into. Superchunk maybe?
