Maeve and Lilly

With the election a few days away, I thought I’d report on the campaign from the view point of  an eight-year-old.

•  After watching a bit of the first debate: “McCain doesn’t talk very well and he wants the war to keep going.”
• While noticing a lot of McCain signs in our neighborhood: “Why would ANYONE vote for McCain?”
• Spotting an Obama sign: “Good choice!”
• Wondering aloud: “Do people CHOOSE to be Republicans?”
• Needling me: “What would you do if I became a Republican?”
• Noticing a McCain sign in her librarian’s yard: “Well, THAT’s disappointing.”
• While trick-or-treating: “I HOPE Obama wins.”
